History - Information & Referral

The RICDHH Information and Referral Service began in 1977, when the legislature created the agency. Recognizing the importance of sharing resource information about deaf and hard of hearing people to the community, the Information and Referral Service become one of the agency’s original legislative mandates. The service has grown over the years to include a lending library and an equipment loan program, along with an ever-growing resource directory on local, regional, and national resources for deaf and hard of hearing individuals.
