State Based Requests
RICDHH's highest priority is providing interpreting and captioning services for State of Rhode Island agencies. As part of our statutory responsibilities, all State of Rhode Island agencies are required to submit their interpreting and captioning service requests through RICDHH.
Interpreters and captioning providers accepting state-funded assignments through RICDHH must be contracted under Master Price Agreement (MPA) 358 and are required to follow the rates, terms, and conditions established by the State of Rhode Island.
Examples of state-based entities include state departments, commissions, and other agencies funded by the State of Rhode Island.
RICDHH is the State of Rhode Island's designated referral service for interpreting and CART services for state agencies and public higher education institutions. Examples include DCYF, BHDDH, RIDOH, DHS, RIDE, RIDOT, DMV, the Governor's Office, the Rhode Island Judiciary, URI, Rhode Island College, CCRI, and many other State agencies.
In accordance with the State's Master Price Agreement (MPA), all state-funded requests must be submitted through RICDHH and offered to MPA Tier 1 providers before proceeding to Tier 2 when necessary. State assignments follow the State-established rates and do not include travel reimbursement.
